FISART 2017 – Summary

FISART 2017 is the seventh edition of the International Art Street Festival in Timisoara. The annual
editions of the International Graffiti and Street Art Festival (FISART), initiated by the EnduRoMania
FOUNDATION in collaboration with Timisoara City Hall, the Faculty of Arts and Design of the West University
of Timisoara (FAD-UVT) and other partners, have taken place in Timisoara since 2011.

In the seven editions of FISART, it has gone from GRAFFITI in 2011 to STREET ART of normal size in
2012 and then to NEO-MURALISM, with some of the very large dimensions in recent years. The experience and
quality of the artists was from year to year better, which can be seen by following the quality of the works. All these
years, artists from the Romania and abroad (Austria, Brazil, Croatia, Switzerland, France, Germany, Italy, Mexico,
Peru, Spain, USA and Hungary) participated. The locations, many of them very visible, are spread throughout the
city, helping to improve the look of the Timişoara urban public space.

Due to the fact that there are many active or disused industrial structures in Timisoara with inadequate
aesthetic aspect, the tendency was that FISART 2017 should also focus on the use of technological objectives,
such as halls and industrial installations (AQUATIM and PASMATEX). The artists have left their mark on the
walls, doors and windows of industrial buildings, which become true museums in the open air, and at the same
time remarkable optical and aesthetic improvement is achieved. Art pieces of different sizes vibrant and colorful
in different styles and techniques are admired and photographed by locals and tourists. These locations become an
initial landmark for the realization and concise presentation of mural artwork in the city. During FISART 2017
there were 29 artists coming from Austria (1), France (2), Germany (1), Italy (1), Spain (9), Peru (1), Russia (1) and
       Romania (13).
